Al-Lafi and Al-Huni are at the top of the list of Libya against Egypt in the World Cup qualifiers

Today, Saturday, the Libyan Football Association announced the list of the team called up to face Egypt’s first national team back and forth next October in the third and fourth round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The list of the Libyan team chosen by the Spanish coach, Javier Clemente, included 27 players who will face the Pharaohs in the African qualifiers for the World Cup. The second stage of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Clemente's choices for the Libyan national team were as follows:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed Nachnoush (Al-Ahly Tripoli) - Murad Al-Wahishi (Al-Ahly Benghazi) - Moaz Al-Lafi (Al-Ittihad).

Defense: Sanad Al-Werfalli (Moroccan Raja) - Al-Mu’tasim Billah Al-Sabo (Al-Ittihad) - Ali Salama (Al-Nasr) - Ahmed Al-Tarbi (Kazma Al-Kuwaiti) - Ali Youssef (Al-Ahly Benghazi) - Muhammad Al-Munir (Al-Ahly Tripoli) - Muhammad Al-Tarhouni (Al-Ahly Tripoli) - Al-Taher bin Amer (Al-Ahly Benghazi) - Abdullah Al-Sharif (Al-Ahly Tripoli).

Midfield: Faisal Al-Badri (Al-Hilal) - Omar Al-Khoja (Al-Ittihad) - Mohamed Al-Tohamy (Al-Nasr) - Mohamed Al-Journi (Sfaxien, Tunisia) - Al-Mu'tasim Billah Al-Misrati (Portuguese Braga) - Ayman Omair (Al-Ittihad Misurata) - Al-Senussi Al-Hadi (Al-Arabi Al-Kuwaiti) - Mouayed Al-Lafi (Moroccan Wydad), Hamdou El-Houni (Tunisia), Noureddine El-Kulaib (Swehli) – Mohamed Soula (Tunisian Sfaxien) – Mohamed Tabbal (Al-Ahly Tripoli).

Attack: Mohamed Zoabi (Al-Ittihad) - Moaz Issa (Al-Ittihad) - Anis Salto (Al-Ahly Tripoli).

Libya tops Group F with the full score, after beating Gabon 2-1 and then beating hosts Angola with a goal by Omar Al-Khoja, while Egypt comes in the group runners-up after its victory over Angola and its draw against Gabon.

The two Arab teams will meet at the Burj Al Arab Stadium in Alexandria on October 8, and after 3 days they will meet at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi.

The group champion qualifies for the final stage of the qualifiers, in which 5 teams play against 5, and the winners reach the World Cup.

In the last two rounds, Egypt will play its host Angola and then host Gabon in November.

Libya did not participate in the World Cup before, while Egypt was eliminated from the first round in 1934, 1990 and 2018.

The Libyan Football Association revealed that the national team will organize a preparatory camp for the two matches in Turkey from September 27 to October 7 next.
