UN: 22,550 people affected by floods in the Philippines

A website affiliated with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that heavy rains, strong winds and thunderstorms that hit the island of Mindanao, Davao region in the Philippines, caused floods that led to evacuations, after major damage to the people.


According to the Disaster Information Network of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, as of today, July 12, 605 people have been evacuated to three evacuation centers, about 22,550 have been damaged and three bridges have been destroyed in the region.

The Information Network predicted that during the next 24 hours, more heavy rains are expected over the entire island of Mindanao.
