Two people were killed and 120 others were evacuated due to heavy rains in southern China

Two people were killed and 120 others were evacuated today, Tuesday, as torrential rains that hit the southern parts of the country flooded homes and farmland, and disrupted power supplies and train services.

In a statement reported by Yonhap News Agency, the Korean Central Disaster Control and Safety Headquarters said that a woman in her sixties was swept away by heavy rains in the southwestern town of Hinham, and her body was found, and another was killed in South Jeolla Province as well.

About a dozen roads were closed for public safety in South Jeolla Province, Busan and Gwangju, where heavy rains are likely to trigger floods and landslides.
