The Minister of Communications discusses with the Ambassador of Singapore to enhance cooperation between the two countries


Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat met with Ambassador Dominic Goh of Singapore to Egypt to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of communications and information technology.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Amr Talaat reviewed Egypt's digital strategy and efforts to achieve digital transformation and build the Egyptian person by providing training programs at different levels in the fields of information and communication technology, as well as launching and implementing programs and initiatives to stimulate technological innovation and entrepreneurship among young people.

 

Dr. Amr Talaat stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Egypt and Singapore in the field of communications and information technology, in light of the distinguished relations between the two countries. In light of the progress made in the fields of emerging technology, including artificial intelligence and its various applications.

 

For his part, the ambassador affirmed his country's readiness to cooperate with Egypt in the field of capacity building and raising competencies through a number of world-class specialized universities, and by providing training programs to access accredited certificates in a number of topics, including artificial intelligence, pointing to the possibility of cooperation in the field of providing Digital services as well as digital financial inclusion.

 

The ambassador also extended an invitation to Dr. Amr Talaat to visit Singapore based on the invitation submitted by him to Josephine Teo, Minister of Communications and Information, responsible for the Smart Nation Initiative and Cyber ​​Security in Singapore to enhance ways of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of communications and information technology. The Minister welcomed the invitation; He extended a similar invitation to his counterpart, the Minister of Communications and Information of Singapore.

 

It is worth noting that this meeting comes against the background of the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Singaporean Artificial Intelligence Foundation to establish partnerships in the fields of spreading public awareness about artificial intelligence among citizens of all segments of society, and transferring knowledge through training trainers on a practical program for professional training for specialists.
