Death toll from floods in China rises to 71

The Henan Provincial Government announced today, Tuesday, that the death toll from the massive floods caused by torrential rains in the central Chinese province has risen to 71.

The Henan provincial government said during a press conference, according to the Chinese news agency (Xinhua) - that the toll rose after the loss of two people.

Henan province, in central China, is hit by massive floods as a result of heavy rains, causing the death and injury of dozens, which led to the launch of the highest levels of emergency response to confront the floods in the province.

The Zhengzhou government said last week that about 200,000 people had been relocated to protect them from flooding, and all metro stations in the city had been closed.
