Al-Ahly account revealed in the Club World Cup before the seventh appearance and after the tenth star

Al-Ahly club will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be hosted by Japan at the end of 2021 for the seventh time in its history, after winning the African Champions League title for the tenth time in its history, after defeating the South African team Kaizer Chiefs by 3-0, in the final match that brought the two teams together. Saturday evening at the "Mohammed V" stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.

The Red Genie guarantees his seventh appearance in the Club World Cup to be held next December in Japan, after Al-Ahly participated in the Club World Cup on 6 occasions before the years 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2020.

The year 2005 witnessed Al-Ahly’s first participation in the tournament, which was held in Japan, and failed to achieve any victory to occupy the last place, after losing in the opening match against the Saudi Jeddah Federation with a clean goal, before losing in the match to determine the fifth and sixth place against Sydney, Australia, with a score of 1/2. In the following year, the Red Devils returned again to Japan, but this time the motives are different and the experiences are greater, to succeed in winning the bronze medal in this edition after achieving third place.

Al-Ahly opened its second participation with a first victory over Auckland City, New Zealand, with two goals without a response, scored by Mohamed Aboutrika and Flavio, before the team lost in the semi-final match against Inter Nacional of Brazil, with a score of 1/2, to face the Mexican Club America for third place, which was decided in its favor after winning 1 /2.

In 2007, Al-Ahly was close to qualifying for the third time in its history, but lost the continental title against Etoile du Sahel in Cairo, to return in 2008, and lost the first round against Mexican Pacheco 2/4, before losing the Red Genie in the second match against New Zealand’s Adelaide 0/ 1 to take the last place for the second time in the history of his participation in the championship.

After an absence of 5 years, the red genie reappeared in the 2012 edition that was held in Japan. Al-Ahly achieved the second best appearance in its five participations, as Al-Ahly won fourth place in this edition, after it managed to win the opening match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Japan 1/ 2, before losing in the semi-final match against Corinthians of Brazil 1-0, before losing again in the match for third and fourth place against Monterrey of Mexico 0-2.

In 2013, on Moroccan soil, Al-Ahly ranked last for the third time in the history of its participation in the tournament, after losing the quarter-final match against China’s Guangzhou Evergrande, 0-2, before losing in the second match against Monterrey, Mexico, with a score of 1/5.

In 2020, and on Qatari soil, Al-Ahly succeeded in achieving the bronze in the Club World Cup for the second time in its history after defeating Al-Duhail with a goal without a response, then losing to Bayern Munich with two goals without a response, and then defeating Palmeiras of Brazil on penalties after the end of the original time in a negative tie.
