The gradual resumption of tourism, as domestic tourism was resumed on May 15, 2020, in hotels that obtained a health safety certificate only, with an occupancy rate of 25% of their capacity, and on the first of June of the same year, the occupancy rate was raised to 50%, then announcing health safety controls to encourage the return of the movement Inbound tourism on June 14, 2020, and its resumption as of July 1, 2020 to the governorates of the Red Sea, South Sinai and Matrouh, and as of September 1, cultural tourism was resumed, archaeological sites and museums reopened, and on October 1, Nile cruises to floating hotels were resumed by 50 percent. % of its carrying capacity.


The issuance of controls as of September 1, 2020 banning entry to Egypt from Egyptians or foreigners, without a negative PCR analysis certificate to detect the emerging corona virus, the date of which is a maximum of 72 hours before the flight departure time, and to facilitate for tourists, in order to ensure the safety of Egyptian tourism destinations and preserve its international reputation And allowing analyzes to be conducted upon arrival at the airports of Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Marsa Alam and Luxor for those who wish at a price of $30 or against it in other currencies.


The office of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourist Activation in Hurghada was also allocated to conduct PCR and Antigen analysis for those who wished tourists upon leaving to their country to facilitate and grant overcrowding.


In the context of the continuous updating of the controls and procedures for entering the country, travelers with vaccination certificates were allowed to receive the anti-Coronavirus vaccines approved by the World Health Organization and the Egyptian Medicines Authority, provided that 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of vaccines given in two doses, namely (Sinopharma, Sinovac). , Sputnik, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna), or 14 days have passed from receiving the first dose of the (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine, provided that the certificates are accepted after reviewing and verifying their approval by the issuing country without abrasion, deletion or addition, as required. The certificate should contain a QR Code, with additional precautionary measures taken for holders of vaccination certificates coming from countries affected by new mutations of the virus, including conducting a rapid DNA analysis (ID NOW) for them, and the continued application of health controls and requirements for those coming to Egypt for those without certificates Vaccination.


The completion of vaccinating workers in the tourism sector in the governorates of South Sinai and the Red Sea with anti-viral vaccines against the emerging corona virus as a first stage, as they are the two governorates that witness the largest proportion of the tourist influx to Egypt, in order to ensure the safety of citizens and tourists alike and to give more confidence in the level of health safety in the destinations. Egyptian. The vaccination of all citizens residing in these two governorates will be completed soon, and workers in the tourism sector will be vaccinated in the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor and Aswan.
