Jill Biden bids farewell to her dog "Champ" with a touching message: 'Our beautiful boy will always miss you'

Jill Biden, the first American lady, said goodbye to her dog, Champ, who died yesterday, with a moving message on her official account on the “Instagram” website, where she posted a picture of him, saying: “Our hearts are heavy today because we inform you all that our beloved German Shepherd, the hero, died peacefully at home. He has been our dear constant companion for the past 13 years and has been loved by the entire Biden family."

She continued, "Even as Champ's strength waned in his final months, when we entered the room he would immediately pull himself up, always wagging his tail, laying on his back at us to scratch the ear or rub the belly. Wherever we were, he wanted to be, and it was everything. Immediately better when he was next to us."

She added, "He loved nothing more than to lie at our feet by the fire at the end of the day, join us as a comfortable attendee at meetings, or sunbathe on the White House lawn. In his younger days, Happiest was a golfer on the front lawn of the Naval Observatory or racing to catch the Our grandchildren running around our backyard in Delaware."

She concluded her message by saying, "In our happiest moments and our saddest days, he was there with us, sensitive to all our unspoken feelings and affection. We love our beautiful, kind boy and will always miss him."
