The President of the European Commission welcomes the ceasefire agreement in Gaza

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Gaza and urged both sides to reinforce it. "I urge the two sides to consolidate it and achieve long-term stability. Only a political solution will bring lasting peace and security for all," Von der Leyen wrote on Twitter.

US President Joe Biden had expressed his gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the officials for their great role in completing the diplomatic process for the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the success of the Egyptian efforts to install the ceasefire.


US President Joe Biden said, during a press conference, that he had spoken 6 times with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Palestinian Authority, following up: I spoke to Benjamin Netanyahu and stressed the need to stop all hostilities.


Joe Biden continued: I saluted Benjamin Netanyahu for the ceasefire decision, and spoke with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Israeli Prime Minister, and I express my gratitude to President El-Sisi and the Egyptian officials for their great role in this diplomacy.


Biden added, "We are committed to working with the United Nations to provide humanitarian aid to rebuild Gaza," adding that Egypt and other countries have made important efforts to reach a ceasefire, and there are opportunities for progress.
