The Palestinian Foreign Ministry welcomes the statements of "Anthony Blinken" to install the ceasefire

Today, Monday, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the statements of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, in which he stressed the importance of giving priority to fixing the ceasefire and dealing with the dangerous humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the need to start its reconstruction.

The ministry said - in a statement reported by the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) - that "Blinken's positions come in the right direction and can be built upon. However, what is required is to move from the square of words to the square of actions, including exerting pressure on Israel to stop settlements and stop its attacks on the city." Jerusalem and its Christian and Islamic sanctities, foremost of which is the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and a halt to the expulsion and displacement of Palestinian families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

The ministry affirmed that the Palestinian side deals positively with the American positions and orientations expressed by President Joe Biden and his Secretary of State, as well as with any declared positions and efforts exerted to achieve peace in accordance with international peace references, foremost among which are the principles of the two-state solution and land for peace, noting that the most prominent challenge facing American efforts is And the international community remains the Israeli intransigence and the constant evasion of paying the requirements for a real and lasting peace between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.

Blinken called - during his statements - to make more efforts to create conditions between the Palestinian and Israeli sides to relaunch a real peace process, stressing that negotiations should lead to the achievement of a two-state solution.
