Damascus demands that the "democratic Syria" be allowed to hold elections in its areas of control

Today, Sunday, the Syrian Foreign Minister, Faisal Al-Miqdad, the Minister of Justice, Ahmed Al-Sayed, and the Supreme Elections Committee, delivered the results of the counting of the votes of the Syrian voters residing abroad who cast their votes in the presidential elections.

"The presidential elections for Syrians abroad were held in 46 electoral boxes in the Syrian embassies, and they proceeded positively and in a democratic atmosphere," the Syrian minister said in a speech to him - reported by SANA.

He added, "The participation rate of voters residing abroad is very high, although some parties prevent Syrians from reaching the ballot boxes. Welcome to those who were unable to vote in the Syrian embassy in Lebanon to perform their national duty on the land of the Syrian Arab Republic."

The Syrian Foreign Minister called on the Syrian Democratic Forces to allow presidential elections to be held in their areas of control "if they consider themselves democratic."
